Using Moldzyme® Outdoors for Effective Mold and Mildew Removal

For large outdoor areas, the easiest way to apply Moldzyme® is with a pressure washer or garden sprayer. These tools ensure even coverage and save time on big projects. For areas with heavy buildup, scrub thoroughly and allow the recommended dwell time for maximum effectiveness.
Vinyl, Aluminum, and Wood Surfaces
Vinyl and aluminum siding tend to stain more than wood. For tough stains, use strong agitation followed by a rinse with a pressure washer or high-pressure hose. This combination helps restore surfaces to a clean, fresh look.
Concrete and Masonry
Concrete and masonry are highly porous, allowing mold and mildew spores to penetrate deep into the surface. For best results:
- Apply Moldzyme® generously.
- Scrub the surface to work the enzymes deeper.
- Rinse with a pressure washer or high-pressure hose. In areas with heavy growth, a second application may be beneficial.
Decks and Patios
Horizontal surfaces like decks and patios are prone to mold and mildew. Use a garden sprayer for large areas or a Moldzyme® spray bottle for smaller spots. Apply liberally, scrub with a deck broom or brush, allow dwell time, and rinse thoroughly.
Siding, Brick, Vinyl, Stucco, and Home Exteriors
Moldzyme® is safe for plants, landscaping, and groundwater. For large exterior areas:
- Use a tank sprayer for easy application.
- Spray Ready-to-Use Moldzyme® over moldy surfaces.
- Let sit for at least 10 minutes, brush in, and rinse with cool water. For older or porous surfaces like mortar or wood siding, a second brushing may improve results.
2. Apply Moldzyme® liberally and agitate with a scrub brush or deck broom. Agitation will help Moldzyme® to penetrate through the built up layers of grime to get to the problem area on the surface. Allow the recommended dwell time and rinse with a hose or pressure washer.
Siding, Brick, Vinyl, Stucco, and other home exteriors: Moldzyme® is safe for your plants, landscaping, and ground water. A tank sprayer is often easier for applying Moldzyme® to a large area. Spray Ready-to-Use over moldy areas and let sit at least 10 minutes. Brush in and rinse off with cool water. If your mortar or wood siding is older or extremely porous, brushing Moldzyme® in a second time may be more effective.
